What better way to start the day than with a deep breath and revitalizing stretching exercises above the rooftops of Berlin? The students of the Bauhaus already began their day this way 100 years ago. The bauhaus week invites the public to take part in morning yoga on eight selected terraces and flat roofs across the city. The classes take the gymnastics courses of the Bauhaus students at the Dessau school building as their model. Yoga teacher and cultural journalist Sarah Elsing leads guests through the yoga classes, followed by a small talk on the architecture of there spective building. Every morning between 9 and 10:30, you can exercise on a roof or terrace in modernist style and its successors and gather your energy for the coming Bauhaus day.

Yoga mats are available—you don’t have to bring a thing, all you have to do is let yourself go.

Daily from 9–10.30 am, registration required.

The yoga classes are free of charge. The number of participants is limited, and registration is an absolute must. Because there are no changing rooms, we recommend that you arrive inappropriate clothing.

The course and lecture is held in german.
