The FHXB Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Museum sees itself as the district’s memory. It maintains a comprehensive archive for both Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain, providing research support for all who are interested. The museum provides rotating/ever-changing exhibits on regional and local (neighborhood) history, typically within the context of contemporary questions and with a focus on immigration and industry, commerce, and urban development; a permanent exhibit with sections on urban development and migration history on two floors; ahistorical case room and printshop of what was then the Otto Schneider Printshop; a small library on the history of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg; feducational programs for children, youth, and adults at the museum, as well asthematic tours through the district. The Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Museum ispart of the culture and history division within the office for continuing educationand culture of the district office of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.
